Barbara is an artist and papermaker. She currently collaborates with her husband, Paul Sullivan. The works on this website lead directly to the collaborations, both aesthetically and literally. Landes Sullivan makes free use of pieces (and parts) of the works documented here. Finished pieces are never put in storage. We try to show them, they are occasionally sold, but, most often, they are taken apart and the various pieces are used again to create new works.

My work grows out of my handmade papers and studio experiments. Other elements come in to complement and literally to support the paper such as insulation foam board, plywood and heavy wire. Nothing has changed on that score. We talk and think about the works in terms of materials, composition, color, installation.

The works evolve, change and grow into a finished piece from there.  We want to surprise ourselves, as well as our viewers.
